This is done by including the translator’s stamp and signature on the document. Thus, sworn translations in Spain are regulated by the state.

In many English-speaking countries, the organizations that authorize sworn translators are usually independent entities formed by members of the professional translation community. Examples include the Institute of Translation and Interpreting in the UK, the Irish Translators and Interpreters Association in Ireland, and the American Translators Association in the US. A notable exception is Australia, where the national body, the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters, is a state-owned entity. Although the lack of state regulation might be concerning, these associations set and enforce their own standards. When is a Sworn Translation Required?
